Abbotsford in the lead of Healthy Community Challenge

Event encourages participants to record their food and exercise habits online.

The Healthy Community Challenge has reached the halfway point and Abbotsford holds a strong lead.

The event aims to promote healthy lifestyles across B.C. by getting participants to record their food and exercise habits online in order to earn points from their activity. The community to earn the most points at the end of the challenge wins the event.

After five weeks of participation, Abbotsford has recorded 70,582 total points, compared to 36,494 points recorded by second-place Surrey. Langley is third with 19,299 followed by Coquitlam with 8,907.

Participants in the challenge can go online and submit queries to the personal training company, Innovative Fitness. Staff will respond free of charge and provide guidance to people looking to stay healthy. Visit healthycommunitychallenge.com for more information.
