The Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce held a bus tour Friday for members of local agri-businesses and related operations.
Among the stops were greenhouse manufacturer BW Global Structures, Ripples Estate Winery, Old Abbey Ales and Abbotsford Community Services’ urban farm project.
At BW Global, participants got a unique look at the major local manufacturer, which uses robotics to build high-tech greenhouses for food producers across the world.
“Because of the robotics, this is the largest IKEA set in the world,” BW Global CEO Timothy Kendrick said. He noted that the exterior of his company’s greenhouses are made of a material that diffuses light and can withstand storms and earthquakes better than glass.
