British Columbia’s four Lower Mainland health organizations – Fraser Health (FH), Providence Health Care (PHC), the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) – have once again been named among the province’s Top 55 Employers for 2011.
Awarded by Mediacorp Canada Inc (the organizers of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition), this is the third year in a row that PHC and PHSA have made the prestigious list and the second for FH and VCH.
The Top 55 Employers lead their industries in recruitment and retention and offer exceptional places to work.
“The recognition as being one of British Columbia’s top employer’s is testimony to the outstanding work of Lower Mainland health authorities and employers,” said Health Services Minister Colin Hansen.
The four health organizations employ more than 65,000 staff in highly specialized clinical and non-clinical roles. They were recognized as offering employees progressive work policies, opportunities for growth, competitive compensation and excellent benefits.
“Our leaders, working with their teams, are committed to creating great workplaces where people want to contribute because we support their well-being and engage the employees, physicians and volunteers who provide the care to our patients, residents and clients,” said Dr. Nigel Murray, President and CEO of Fraser Health.
“I am delighted that Fraser Health has been acknowledged for the second straight year as a Top Employer in BC as this honour confirms, once again, that there are great workplaces across our organization.”
