Man charged with 2023 stabbing in Abbotsford

A man has been charged with a stabbing incident in Abbotsford last December that left a 19-year-old man seriously injured.

According to court records, Lawrence Robert Peters, 20, has been charged with aggravated assault and has been released on bail.

The incident took place Dec. 22, 2023. On that day, patrol officers responded at 2:35 a.m. to a reported disturbance in a parking lot in the 3100 block of Clearbrook Road.

When they arrived, they discovered that a man had been stabbed. His injuries were “serious and life-threatening,” police said at the time.

The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Police said an arrest had been made, but charges were not laid until recently.
