The Abbotsford Pilots have advanced to the second round of the Pacific Junior Hockey League playoffs, thanks to a four game sweep of the Mission City Outlaws.
Abbotsford clinched the berth to the next round on Sunday night by defeating the Outlaws 3-1.
Brandon Daase and Brett Kolins led the way for the Pilots, each scoring one goal and adding one assist. Ryan Parmar had the other goal for the Abbotsford squad which dominated the game, out shooting Mission 45-18.
Penalties played a big part in the lopsided shot total as Abbotsford had 10 powerplay opportunities, scoring once, compared to five for Mission who did not score with the man advantage.
David McGowan had the lone tally for Mission.
Abbotsford won the first three games of the series 5-1, 6-3 and 9-1.
The Pilots will now face the winner of the series between the second place Aldergrove Kodiaks and the third place Ridge Meadows Flames. Aldergrove leads the series 3-1.
