Masters coming to Abby

Curling tournament to crown provincial champion set for Abbotsford

The best Masters curling teams in the province are rocking the rink in Abbotsford this week.

The BC Provincial Masters Championship kicked off on Tuesday and runs until Sunday at the Abbotsford Curling Club.

The top eight men’s and women’s teams from across B.C. hit the ice, and play seven games in a round robin format from Tuesday to Friday. Playoffs begin on Saturday, with the finals occurring on Sunday at noon.

The winner of the tournament will then represent the province at the Masters National Championship in Nova Scotia later this month.

All games are free for the public to attend.

The next big event on the calendar for the ACC is the Men’s and Women’s Club Championships, which run on March 19 and 20. The club championships feature the top Abbotsford teams battling it out for bragging rights.

The club closes for the season on April 1, with the annual golf tournament and barbecue occurring on April 16.
