The Abbotsford Sports Hall of Fame will welcome its two newest members this weekend.

Olympic skeleton athlete Amy Gough and rugby star Harry Toews will be inducted into the local sports shrine at the Legacy Centre at Abbotsford Exhibition Park on Saturday, April 25.

Gough, an Abbotsford secondary grad is being recognized for an outstanding international skeleton career that included representing Canada at the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver and Whistler, where she finished seventh.

Toews is being honoured for a stellar rugby career that took him from the pitch at Abbotsford secondary to representing Canada on the world stage to playing professionally England for a decade.

The hall will also honour 10 individuals and seven teams with spots on its Wall of Fame. Tickets for the evening banquet are available through Hub Fire Engines (3175 McCallum Rd., phone 604-859-3124, email info@hubfire.com).  Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the banquet, which begins at 7 p.m.
