1940-2024 ~ Phil went to be with his Lord and Saviour on February 3, 2024 as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Phil was born in Bonnyville, Alberta growing up in Mallaig and Edmonton. He met his wife at Vancouver Bible Institute, married in 1962, had 2 children, and worked as a mechanic and pastor. In 1967, moved to Edmonton and then Lloydminster, serving at First Baptist Church and as a school trustee.
In 1985, the family moved to Surrey, BC, buying Ambassador Brake and Muffler (OK Tire). He was head of First Contact ministry at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, known for his welcoming hugs. In 2014, Phil retired to Abbotsford and became an Abbotsford School Trustee for 8 years.
Phil loved his Lord and loved people. Phil is survived by his wife, 2 sons and daughters-in-law, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on February 19th at 2 pm at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Surrey.
