Mr. Nick Spenst, late of Abbotsford, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 31, 2007 at the age of 72.
He is survived by his daughter Krys (Dan) Beketa, sons Mark (Tammy), and Matt, six grandchildren Kevin, Natasha, Katrina, Jennifer, Steven, and Andrea, ten siblings Jack (Erna), George (Marge), John (Shirley), Nettie (Corny), Mary, Tina (Ted), Margaret, Sue (Dave), Helen (Peter), and Betty (Fred), numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Nick was an avid hockey player and golfer; he had a zest for life even though his last seven years were difficult from a stroke. He stayed positive and made the best of each and every day.
Nick will be dearly missed by all he touched; especially the staff at the Menno Hospital. The family thanks all of them for their support and kindness.
Now that you are free from your restraints, we know that not only will the eagles soar but we know your new freedom will produce many eagles and birdies wherever you are playing now.
A Celebration of Nick’s life will be held on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 11:00 am at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford with Chaplain Beverley Bradford officiating.
