John Richard Mapstone of Abbotsford, BC passed away in Holmberg House on December 9, 2017 at the age 67 following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on May 17, 1950 to Grace & Norman Mapstone.
John married the love of his life Lee Anne on June 30, 1972 in Chilliwack, BC. They were happily married for 45 years.
John cherished his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed bird watching, camping, reading, cooking and playing cards. He also loved walking his dog Josie and was always tinkering with a new project. John worked as a mill-worker until he retired.
John will be forever remembered and loved by his wife Lee Anne and their 3 children; Richard (Gina), Jennifer (Ryan) and Jodie (Shaun). His 5 grandchildren; Amie (Tyler), Emerson, Adelynn, Kylie, Jordan and his Great Grandson Luke.
He will also be missed by his dog Josie and many friends.
A celebration of John's life will be held at Carriage Lane Recreation Hall, 32691 Garabaldi Drive, Abbotsford, BC @ 1:45 pm on January 14, 2018.
