In Loving Memory ~

Harry was born in Hamburg, Germany to Friedrich and Olga Schwarz. There were some hard years during the war were Harry was separated from his family for a time at a young age. As a young man, Harry went on to work for Volkswagen as an apprentice.

Harry met his loving wife, Hedi on a motorcycle holiday that he was taking with her cousin and Hedi and her brother joined them on their trip. Soon they were engaged in Germany and Harry went ahead immigrating to Canada and setting up a home for the two of them. In Winnipeg, he worked for Volkswagen Canada.

In 1957 Hedi immigrated, and they were married in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Here their four children were born and raised until 1970 when they made the move out west to the Fraser Valley in British Columbia.

Harry and his business partner started their own VW, Porsche, Audi dealership, Valley Autohouse in Abbotsford. Dad and Mom had an amazing friend group and had many camping/fishing adventures and many trips back to see family in Germany.

Fun memories were made at the family RV spot at Cultus Lake and later family reunions in the Okanagan. Their home was always the center for family gatherings and Sunday dinners especially as the grandchildren started coming.

Harry passed to his rest in Salmon Arm where he had resided since 2020. Thank you to the caregivers at Hillside Village for the loving care given to our father.

Harry was predeceased in 2012 by his precious wife Hedi of 55 years.

Looking forward to a heavenly reunion are their children: Juergen Schwarz (Carla), Petra Donatelli (Ron), Christine Schwarz and Jens Schwarz (Linda) along with 12 grandchildren and spouses and soon-to-be 16 great-grandchildren.
