Adrienne Fast is the new curator of art and visual culture at The Reach.

The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford has named Adrienne Fast as its new curator of art and visual culture.

“I’m very excited that Adrienne is joining our team, and we’re fortunate to have found such a good fit for our organization and our community,” executive director Laura Schneider said in a statement.

“She certainly impressed us with the range of her curatorial practice, her community-mindedness, and her sincere desire to connect with audiences. I look forward to the insightful contributions that I know she’s going to make at The Reach.”

Fast starts her new job on Feb. 2.

She has focused on historical and modern art from Asia while studying for a PhD in art history and theory from UBC and an MA in art history from the University of London.

As a curator, Fast has contributed to exhibits including Northwest Coast First Nations art, experimental installations and contemporary performance art.

Fast was most recently an interim curator at the Kamloops Art Gallery and was an assistant curator at the Vancouver Art Gallery before that.
