City crews responded to a broken water main on Matsqui Place Wednesday, after significant flooding at a nearby property.
The city received a report of a possible water main break in the morning, and crews arrived to shut down the water main to stop the flooding.
The water main is located at the driveway to the Clearbrook Petro-Pass and is subject to heavy truck traffic.
A news release from the city states that it is one of the city’s newer water mains and is not scheduled for replacement until 2021.
If the cause of the break is not easily identifiable, the city says it will need to take a sample of the pipe for testing. Once a cause for the break is known, the city will re-evaluate this main for replacement.
