The historic Hope Station House is on the move Thursday morning.
The move has been underway since 9 a.m. and, despite encountering some issues with tree branches and street signs, was able to be on the road and halfway to its new home by around 10 a.m.
As of 10:30 a.m., the building had made it through some of the hardest parts of the move and Nickel Bros., who are handling the big move, were working on the next corner from Water Avenue to behind the current Hope Visitor Centre.
Hundreds of people turned out to line the streets to watch the move.
Japanese drummers were on site to drum as the building made its way to its new home, as well.
Ryan Ellan of the Tashme Historical Site in Sunshine Valley, who purchased the building, watched the process as it unfolded.
“You can take a photo of me kissing the building when it’s over,” he told the Standard.
