Customers were greeted by balloons, popcorn and smiling staff at the Rona Plus grand opening in Abbotsford on Thursday morning (Feb. 29).
Located at 1225 Sumas Way, the store was one of two Rona Plus locations that opened on Feb. 29. The other is located in Vancouver.
Today, we’re celebrating the reopening of new RONA+ stores, bringing the total to 56 converted stores and, most importantly, marking the sunset of the Lowe's banner in Canada as well as the asserted presence of the RONA brand. 👏#RONA #ProudlyRONA #opening pic.twitter.com/yZpQToCWmk

A board cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. signified the beginning of a new home improvement store for Abbotsford residents.
On Saturday (March 2) and Sunday (March 3) a family event will be held in the Abbotsford store. There will be free food, a children’s workshop, raffle, free bucket for the first 200 customers and a $25 gift card with the purchase of $100 or more.
It was announced last year that Lowe’s stores across Canada would be closing down and converted into the Rona brand.
