Comedian Tyler Morrison performs in Abbotsford this Friday and Saturday.

Canadian comedian Tyler Morrison, fresh off sold-out shows in Vancouver, comes to Abbotsford this weekend to close out the West Coast leg of his Killer on the Road comedy tour.

Morrison will be at Yuk Yuks at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19 and Saturday, Jan. 20.

Morrison appeared at Toronto’s legendary Massey Hall on New Year’s Eve. This is the first time he has brought his working-class brand of hard-hitting comedy to the Vancouver area.

Morrison is notorious for his decorated roast resume that includes a standing-ovation performance on the Ron Jeremy Celebrity Roast, the roast of WWE’s Iron Sheik at Carolines in New York City, ghost writing for Comedy Central’s Roast Battles, and having his own roast segment on Sirius XM’s Todd Shapiro Show.

“My stand-up definitely includes aspects of the roast style, which is fun, especially when I’m able to incorporate the city where I’m performing into the act,” he said.

“Vancouver’s West Coast is an area with a unique identity so there’s lots of opportunity to play on that.”

Morrison’s recent features include the San Diego Comedy Festival, Atlanta Laughing Skull Fest, and Just For Laughs 42 Festival.

He has also appeared on CBC’s hit show The Debaters, NXNE with Marc Maron, and Robert Kelly’s You Know What Dude.

Morrison is also the founder and organizer of Cottage Comedy Festival, an annual event which brings fans to the Muskoka Lakes area to see some of Canada’s best comedic talent at various venues.

Tickets for his Abbotsford show are available online at yukyuks.com/abbotsford, by phone at 604-746-4488 or at the box office at 2509 Pauline St.
