Menno Place in Abbotsford was among 24 care homes across B.C. that held a butterfly release on Friday (July 30) in memory of those who lost their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event also acknowledged those who survived.
The butterfly release was held by the BC Care Providers Association and EngAge BC. The butterfly symbolizes rebirth and transition.
Menno Place hosts a butterfly release annually, but this year they partnered with the two agencies for the event.
The event was also held in Richmond, Vancouver, Coquitlam, Surrey and Qualicum Beach.
