Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 774, which represents the City of Abbotsford and Ledgeview Golf and Country Club unionized staff, recently donated $15,000 to the Archway Food Bank of Abbotsford.

The local supports a variety of initiatives throughout the year. With the holiday season fast approaching in an extremely challenging year, members realized that the community was in need of support more than ever.

With that in mind, members voted unanimously to donate member-contributed funds to the local food bank.

“CUPE Local 774 would like to remind anyone who has the ability to give to do so, as our local community programs are not able to raise funds or gather food or gifts in their usual ways, and every donation helps,” they said in a news release.

“Let us work together to make this season a little bit brighter for our community. We are in this together.”
