VIDEO: Man taken to hospital after apparent stabbing in Abbotsford

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital after an apparent stabbing in an Abbotsford parking lot on Wednesday morning.

Abbotsford Police Sgt. Judy Bird said the incident occurred just before 7:30 a.m. in the eastern portion of the parking lot at West Oaks Mall at South Fraser Way and Gladwin Road.

Police were called for reports of a stabbing and, when they arrived, they found a man suffering from a serious abdominal wound.

Bird said he was conscious and communicating with first responders on the scene. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

About 20 minutes later, another man, 33, was located and arrested in connection with the incident.

Bird said investigators are still determining the exact nature of the man’s injuries and the circumstances involved.
