The first-ever Sumas Mountain Nationals ran from Friday to Sunday (June 29 to July 1) at the Abbotsford BMX Club at Exhibition Park, with close to 600 riders from across the country competing.
Among those taking part were about 60 riders from Abbotsford.
The event featured both amateur and professional racers, and had riders of all ages competing.
The pros practised and raced off the eight-metre-tall Supercross start hill, which was nicknamed “Sumas Mountain.”
Abbotsford BMX is home to one of only two Supercross hills in Canada.
Athletes from across B.C., Alberta, Washington State, Oregon and California competed.
