VIDEO: Take a walk through Abbotsford Foundry

Youth health centre has served thousands of youth in its short existence

Foundry Abbotsford celebrated its one-year anniversary back in June, and recently the group produced a walk-through video for all to see on YouTube.

Users can follow ‘Jenny’ as she leads the camera through a number of different rooms in the facility.

Foundry Abbotsford, located on Simon Avenue, was designed to provide a single stigma-free place where youth aged 12 to 24 can seek out help without encountering the barriers that have deterred some in the past from getting the help they need.

Since officially opening in June 2018, the centre has served over 1,600 youth who made 5,500 visits, accessing over 9,200 services in total.

The centre – operated by Archway Community Services (formerly Abbotsford Community Services) – brings together a variety of local organizations.

These include Fraser Health, the Ministry of Children and Family Development, and the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction.

Foundry Abbotsford is one of eight sites now open across the province, joining Kelowna, Campbell River, Penticton, Prince George, Victoria and two locations in Vancouver.
