One of Abbotsford’s oldest elevators has been showcased on YouTube.
Vancity Elevators, a popular account that documents notable lifts all across the province, recently uploaded footage from the elevator inside McCallum Tower.
The account calls it an “interesting” model and notes that the original buttons appear to have been replaced. A YouTube commenter also complimented the elevator on its vintage wooded cab design.
The video was uploaded on Oct. 11 and has collected over 200 views.
Local elevator aficionados may recall The News sharing a story on Vancity Elevators video last year about the elevator inside Sevenoaks Shopping Centre.

Following that story, many local Facebook Abby News commenters urged someone to feature a video on the McCallum Tower elevator and many indicated it was quite slow.
McCallum Tower is a seven-story low-rise building where many medical supply and healthcare professionals work in. It is located on 2151 McCallum Road. The tower was constructed in 1971 and is known for its unique design.
