A Korean fried chicken option is coming soon to Abbotsford.

Chicko Korean Fried Chicken, which currently has six locations in the Lower Mainland, is set to open in downtown Abbotsford in the near future.

The establishment recently opened an Instagram account and have shared they will be located at 2644 Montrose Avenue.

There are existing locations in Burnaby, Coquitlam, Langley, Surrey and Vancouver.

According to their website, Chicko Chicken makes every order fresh and they import ingredients directly from Korea.

The menu features original, yangyeom, cheese snow, soy garlic, buldak and padak padak styled chicken. Patrons can choose a boneless or bone-in options and all orders come with pickled radish.

Other locations also offer side dishes such as french fries, sauces and drinks.

The exact opening date for the Abbotsford location has not yet been confirmed.

Chicko Chicken joins a relatively crowded chicken restaurant market in Abbotsford, with Fritou, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen and Mary Browns all opening up in recent years. Other popular establishments specializing in serving the bird include: KFC, Wings, Famous Chicken, Nando’s and Barcelos.
