Wolf Pack claw past Pilots

It’s not often that the Abbotsford Pilots are outshot in their own barn, never mind outscored.

But those twin feats were accomplished by the North Vancouver Wolf Pack on Friday night at MSA Arena.

The Wolf Pack boasted a 34-23 edge in the shots-on-goal department, including 15-6 in the third period, as they rallied for a 3-2 victory.

Power-play goals by Ryan Parmar and Michael Tebbutt staked the Pilots to a 2-1 lead, but Quin Buckellew and Spencer Quon scored in the final frame to boost the North Vancouver squad to victory.

The Pilots (27-10-2, 56 points) still own a five-point edge atop the Harold Brittain Conference standings on the Aldergrove Kodiaks, with one game in hand.

The local junior B hockey club returns to action on Thursday, when they visit the Mission City Outlaws (7:15 p.m., Mission Leisure Centre). On Friday, they host the Richmond Sockeyes in a high-profile match-up (7:30 p.m., MSA Arena). The Sockeyes (31-8-1, 63 points) are first in the Tom Shaw Conference, and they’re also first overall in the Pacific Junior Hockey League.
