The Abbotsford Whalers were swimming in gold at last weekend’s Chilliwack Stingrays Swim Meet.

Despite fielding only a split squad in Chilliwack, the club won the meet with more than 3,000 points and more than a dozen medals.

Sarah Portas and Alycia Connorton each won four golds in their respective divisions, while Emilio Nicolato claimed three gold medals and added a silver.

The Whalers sent another contingent of swimmers east to Richmond for its Watermania meet.

The Whalers’ nine swimmers accumulated eight gold, four silver and a bronze medal between them.

Fallon Quast, Emily De Jager and Hailey Klenk led the way for the Whalers.

Quast broke the Division 4 butterfly record, with a blistering time of 31.1 seconds.
