Behind the power hitting of Cole Brandsma, Fraser Valley beat Vancouver Island in two sets (25-19, 25-21) to win the gold medal in boys volleyball action at the B.C. Summer Games.

While the Rick Wutzke-coached Vancouver Island battled, including strong play from Zach Moncton, the power, height and athleticism of Fraser Valley proved too much.

Coached by Jason Warkentin, Fraser Valley led through the bulk of both games, and had strong play from Brendan Visser.
