Hockey celebration takes over Exhibition Park on Saturday and Sunday

Abbotsford turned out big for Rogers Hometown Hockey.

The two-day event celebrating all things hockey took over Abbotsford Exhibition Park on Saturday and Sunday, with fun for hockey fans of all ages.

Local hockey was on display during the special event, with Abbotsford’s Jake Virtanen, Mackenzie Skapski, Nathan Lieuwen and Aldergrove’s Shea Theodore and the Potomak sisters featured.

Canucks alumni Dave Babych and Darcy Rota were also on hand to greet fans and sign autographs.

The Abbotsford Pilots also had a big presence over the entire weekend, with Tara Slone dropping the puck at Friday’s game against the Port Moody Panthers.
