UFV's Morgan Best has been selected to represent Canada at the 2024 FISU World University Championships later this month in Finland.

University of the Fraser Valley golfer Morgan Best has been selected to represent Canada at the 2024 FISU World University Championships.

The event runs from Aug. 27 to 30 in Kuortane-Seinäjoki, Finland.

Best is entering her second season as a member of the UFV Cascades women's golf team and will be one of only two golfers from Canada West comprising the six-player Canadian team.

She helped the Cascades earn a bronze medal at the Canada West Golf Championships at Abbotsford's Ledgeview Golf Club in October 2023 and then lead the Cascades to a win at the Highline Invitational in Olympia, Wash. later that month.

Her strong play continued in 2024 and she finished third overall at the 2024 Vikes Spring Shootout in Victoria last March. Earlier this summer saw Best and the Cascades place fifth at the Golf Canada University/College Championship in Sudbury, Ont.

The 2024 FISU World University Championships will take place at Ruuhikoskigolf, rated as one of the best 100 golf courses in the Nordic countries. Ruuhikoskigolf has organized many major competitions including the Finnish stroke-play Championship in 2019 and European Men’s Senior Team Championship in 2006.
