The University of the Fraser Valley has announced the teams for its annual Honda Way Basketball Classic, which runs Oct. 25-26 at the Envision Athletic Centre.
The previous two editions of the Honda Way preseason event featured the men’s basketball team, but this year the women’s squad will be involved as well.
The women will be playing a pair of fellow CIS programs – the Brock University Badgers of St. Catharines, Ont. and the UBC-Okanagan Heat of Kelowna.
The men have invited two teams from the PacWest college league, the Langara Falcons and the Capilano Blues.
The tourney tips off on Oct. 25 with the Cascades women taking on UBC-O (5 p.m.) and the men facing Capilano (7 p.m.). The next day, the women play Brock (4 p.m.) and the men battle Langara (6 p.m.).
Tickets are $2, and UFV students will be admitted free.
