U11 Valley ball hockey team takes the bronze

The Valley Ball Hockey Association’s U11 team won bronze at the 2015 Western Challenge Cup held in Surrey this past weekend.

The U11 Valley squad finished 1-1 in round robin play and went up against Ridge Meadows in the semi-finals, who they lost to 4-1.

They bounced back in the bronze medal game, beating Manitoba 3-2 in overtime.

The team, coached by Harry Gillis and Brad Wheeler, consisted of 19 players, ages nine to 11, from Abbotsford, Langley and Aldergrove.

The Western Challenge Cup brings together teams from B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba to compete in a five-day tournament.
