Athletes from Abbotsford's Twisters Gymnastics Club cleaned up at the Western Canadian championships in Winnipeg last weekend, bringing home 11 individual medals and two team medals.

The team triumphs came courtesy of the fact that the B.C. contingent topped the aggregate standings on both the women's and men's side.

Individually, Justine Robinson and Tamara Skulstad led the way, each winning multiple medals. Skulstad took gold on beam and floor and added an all-around silver in the provincial level 4 tyro category, while Robinson won gold all-around and gold on the floor in the provincial level 4 open division.

Elijah Horner (gold on high bars, level 4), Emily Moorthy (silver on vault, national novice), Andry Friesen (silver on bars, national open), Dawson Friesen (bronze on vault, national youth) and Jeremy Gaspar (bronze on rings, national open) also climbed the podium.

Other Twisters qualifiers included Ashlynn Skulstad, Cohen Kiers, Curtis Olivier, François Barnard and Kyle Machibroda-Ames.
