Twisters gymnasts excel at Elite Canada

Athletes from Abbotsford’s Twisters Gymnastics showed well at the Elite Canada meet in Gatineau, Que., registering seven podium finishes.

Athletes from Abbotsford’s Twisters Gymnastics showed well at the Elite Canada meet in Gatineau, Que., registering seven podium finishes.

Robert Watson, Ken Ikeda and Zachary Clay led the charge in the senior men’s competitions. Watson notched a bronze in the all-around and added third-place finishes in the floor and parallel bars, while former Olympian Ikeda won gold in his specialty, the pommel horse. Clay took gold on the parallel bars.

Additionally, novice athletes Dawson Friesen and Cohen Kiers took bronze on the vault and parallel bars, respectively.
