Athletes from Abbotsford's Twisters Gymnastics Club have been busy the last three weekends, attending competitions around the Fraser Valley.
The local club participated in the Flip City, Surrey and Langley gymnastics invitationals, making an impressive haul of hardware along the way.
Among the highlights were several Twisters athletes qualifying for major regional meets. Andry Friesen, Emily Moorthy and Ashlynn and Tamara Skulstad earned spots on Team B.C. at the Western Canadian Championships, which run May 3-5 in Winnipeg.
Five members of the levels 2-3 women’s team – Katrina Penner-Loat, Lexi Gaspar, Kimberly Vandermeulen, Katelyn Cotterell and Paula Melger-Ida – qualified for the provincial championships in Prince George, April 5-7.
