Twisters' Chaplin best in West

Steven Chaplin led the charge as Abbotsford's Twisters Gymnastics Club made an impressive showing at the Western Canadian Youth Championships last weekend in Langley.

Chaplin was the all-around champion, qualifying for the finals in every event. He won gold on floor, pommel horse, rings, vault and parallel bars, and bronze on the high bar.

Six other Twisters athletes competed at the Westerns. Kyle Machibroda-Ames won silver on high bar and bronze on pommels, while Cohen Kiers took silver on parallel bars and bronze on high bar. Dawson Friesen earned a pair of bronze medals on pommel and vault, while Aiden Daniell came fifth all-around.

Marquita Morison and Andry Friesen won aggregate silver with Team B.C., while Friesen came in eighth in the individual all-around.
