Who knows what we did to Alabama, but apparently they don't like us...
Photos released on Reddit two days ago – based on surveys reportedly conducted with users on the social sharing/publishing site – show the most hated NHL teams by state, province, and continent, and the Vancouver Canucks are one of the despised.
Not surprisingly, the Canucks were the most hated team in Alberta, which is of course where both fans of the Edmonton Oilers and the Calgary Flames reside.
But shockingly – and maybe it's our nickname? – the Canucks were also the most hated team in Alabama, a state that's never had a hockey team and spends most of its time worshipping the great Crimson Tide and Nick Saban.
The Boston Bruins were the most hated team in every surveyed Canadian province (except Alberta) and were also one of the more hated teams in the United States, although the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks were pushing hard for it, too.
Worldwide, the Bruins were the most hated team in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
For some reason, the Montreal Canadiens are hated in South America and the Winnipeg Jets are hated in Africa.
(The results are almost more interesting because we're not given a reason for them.)
