Sports in brief: Roller derby gets rolling

The Reign Valley Vixens roller derby team opens its third season at the Ag Rec Centre with a bout on Saturday.

Tickets are $5 for the Lucky Harms bout against the Okanagan Raggedy Rollers, and partial proceeds will be donated to the Abbotsford Food Bank. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. For a complete schedule, visit rvvrd.com.

CASCADES HOST ID CAMP

The University of the Fraser Valley men's basketball team is hosting an identification camp on Saturday, April 23.

Athletes will be put through drills by the UFV coaching staff, and participate in an officiated scrimmage. In addition to the Cascades coaching staff, multiple BCCAA men's basketball coaches will be present as well.

Cost is $25 per athlete, and only those serious about competing at a post secondary level should attend. Players are asked to bring a reversible jersey, or a light and a dark T-shirt.

HOOPS CAMP FOR KIDS

Future Champions basketball club is running a skill development camp during the month of April.
