The Hanson Brothers of Slapshot movie fame will be in Abbotsford on Sept. 27 for a fundraising hockey game at MSA Arena.
Jeff Carlson, Steve Carlson and Dave Hanson, who played the rambunctious Hanson trio in the classic film, will be on hand as the Lower Mainland law enforcement team takes on the Vancouver Police Union squad. Former NHL referee Kerry Fraser will handle the officiating chores.
The game begins at 7 p.m., and tickets are available at iMarktickets.com. A portion of the proceeds will go to Covenant House Vancouver, an organization which provides shelter, food, clothing and counseling for homeless youth.
STILL TIME TO REGISTER FOR LACROSSE
The Valley Field Lacrosse program is gearing up for the 2012 season.
The local club welcomes players from Abbotsford and Chiliwack aged five to 19. They are holding practices the next two Thursdays, Aug. 30 and Sept. 6, at Mouat Field in Abbotsford for both new and returning players.
