Spikers swarm Tradex

The Fraser Valley Volleyball Club cleaned up at the provincial U15-U16 club championships, held at Tradex on the weekend.

The FVVC Blue U15 boys team won gold, rallying to beat Eagles Volleyball Club of Surrey (20-25, 25-15, 25-12) in the Div. 1 final. Tim Edge was named tourney MVP, while Jake Hagan and Michael Hsu were all-stars.

Two other FVVC teams also climbed the podium at provincials, which brought together 129 teams and over 1,000 athletes from across B.C.

In the U16 boys division, FVVC Blue took bronze, with Ben Lieuwen earning an all-star nod.

FVVC Tim finished third in the U16 girls Div. 1 Tier 1 event, with Rachel Windhorst picking up an all-star award.

The Mission Wildcats U16 girls squad won a gold medal in the Div. 2 Tier 1 draw.

• The U17-U18 national club championships run at Tradex this week, May 13-15.
