Vancouver Giants defenceman Dylan Plouffe (#6) is one of three members of the team on the NHL Central Scouting's players to watch list.

Six make NHL Central Scouting list

Three Langley hockey players and three members of the Vancouver Giants earn grades for NHL draft

It is not quite a full starting line-up, but six local hockey players — a goaltender, three defencemen, a centre and a right-winger —  find their names on the most recent NHL Central Scouting preliminary players to watch list.

It was released on Tuesday and three hockey players from Langley as well as another three from the Vancouver Giants were listed.

The list gives players a rating of either A (a first round candidate), B (second or third round candidate), C (fourth, fifth or sixth round candidate) or LV, limited viewing, for those who have not had sufficient viewings to be categorized.

The players are all eligible for the 2017 NHL entry draft in June.

Jarret Tyszka, a defenceman for the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds, leads the way with a B grade.

Another WHL player, goaltender Jordan Hollett of the Regina Pats and defenceman Alec Capstick of the BCHL’s Langley Rivermen both earned C grades.

All three are from Langley.

And a trio of Vancouver Giants — centre Dawson Holt, right-winger Brendan Semchuk and defenceman Dylan Plouffe — were all given C grades.

Last season, Langley’s Dennis Cholowski was given an initial grade of C before rocketing up the pre-draft rankings and getting selected in the first round (20th overall) by the Detroit Red Wings.
