Sophie Schmidt has been named to the roster for the Canadian senior women's soccer team's upcoming international friendly matches against France and England.
The 24-year-old midfielder from Abbotsford will take the pitch with her Team Canada mates on Thursday at Stade du Ray in Nice, France, before travelling to New York Stadium in Rotherham to face England on Sunday.
Both matches will be streamed online on Sportsnet.ca.
It will be the first match for Canada against France since the 2012 London Olympics, when Schmidt and company edged the French squad 1-0 in a thrilling bronze medal game.
