Saliken excels on rugby pitch

Abbotsford rugby player Riley Saliken has won the male athlete of the year award at Royal Military College.

Saliken, a Robert Bateman Secondary grad completing his fourth year at the Kingston, Ont. school, was the recipient of the Tommy Smart Cup.

The Abbotsford Rugby Football Club product was named an Ontario University Athletics all-star for a third time and was the RMC men’s rugby MVP in 2012-13, following a season in which he led his team in tackles and was named player of the match by opposing coaches five times.

Saliken is set to graduate in May and will be an officer in RCAF as a pilot.
