The Valley Rebels swept aside the North Shore Indians in the first round of the West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association playoffs, clinching the best-of-three set in two straight games.

The second-seeded Rebels blitzed the No. 7 Indians 14-5 in the opener at MSA Arena on Sunday night, then completed the sweep on the road with a 12-6 victory on Tuesday.

Bryan Poole lit the fuse offensively, racking up seven points (two goals, five assists) in Game 1 and eight points (four goals, four assists) in Game 2. Curt Callard had a strong outing in the opener, notching one goal and four helpers, while goalie Matt Morehouse sparkled between the pipes, turning in a stellar 50-save performance on Sunday.

The Rebels face a huge challenge in the semifinals, as they square off with the Tri-City Bandits. The Bandits were third in WCSLA regular season play at 10-4, but they gave the Rebels fits, winning both games against the Abbotsford side.

The best-of-five semifinal opens on Friday at MSA Arena at 8 p.m.
