The University of the Fraser Valley men’s basketball team added a fourth member to its high school recruiting class, signing Manny Dulay out of Surrey’s Tamanawis Secondary on Wednesday.

The 6’3” point guard averaged 18 points, six rebounds, nine assists and three steals per game in his senior season at Tamanawis, and was named MVP at the Surrey RCMP tournament and the Burnaby South tourney.

“Manny is a very heady, smart and skilled basketball player,” Cascades coach Barnaby Craddock said. “He sees the floor extremely well, and makes some fantastic passes which complements a fantastic great shooting touch. As Manny grows physically he has the ability to have a solid university career.”

Dulay will join his Tamanawis teammate Rav Dhaliwal with the Cascades next season. Dhaliwal, a 6’8” centre, signed with UFV last month, along with shooting guard Max Neuman of Maple Ridge and forward Luke Morris of Mission.

All four players have been selected for the B.C. high school basketball all-star game, which tips off at 3 p.m. this Saturday at UBC.

“The Cascades program is competing at a high level, and I am excited to begin my journey with the coaching staff and players,” said Dulay, who was a first team all-star at the AAA Fraser Valley tournament. “They have high standards and it fits well with the high standards I have for myself.”
