Pilots work overtime vs. Steelers

With a pair of weekend wins, the Abbotsford Pilots improved to 4-1 in the Pacific International Junior Hockey League.

With a pair of weekend wins, the Abbotsford Pilots improved to 4-1 in Pacific International Junior Hockey League action.

The Pilots beat the Grandview Steelers 4-3 in overtime on Friday night at MSA Arena. Michael Tebbutt scored the overtime winner, and with two goals and an assist was named the player of the game.

With four goals and four assists in five games, Tebbutt is the Pilots’ scoring leader.

Ryan Parmar also had a goal and an assist.

On Thursday night, the Pilots beat the Mission City Outlaws 7-4. Devon Allenby led the offensive with a hat trick and an assist, Brady Lawlor and Dakota Schipper both had three assists, and Adam Rossi had a goal and an assist.

• The Pilots’ next game is Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. at the Aldergrove Community Arena, when they take on the Kodiaks. Their next home game will be Friday at 7:30 p.m. at MSA Arena, against the North Delta Devils.
