The Abbotsford Pilots padded their scoring stats against a pair of sub-.500 opponents last weekend.

The junior B hockey club blasted their local rivals, the Mission City Outlaws, by a 12-1 count on Friday at MSA Arena. Michael Tebbutt and Dakota Schipper each notched hat tricks, with Tebbutt adding two assists for a five-point night.

Luke Venema (2), Brett Kolins, Brandon Daase, Keith Bendall and Adam Rossi also scored for Abbotsford, while goalie Zachary Station turned aside 17 of 18 shots.

On Saturday, the Pilots lit up the Ridge Meadows Flames 7-3 on the road. Tebbutt, with a goal and two assists, led the offensive onslaught, while Schipper, Rossi, Ryan Parmar, Kyle Star, Mico Dragutinovic and Ryan Hotner also scored. Aaron Oakley picked up the win with an 18-save outing.

The Pilots are the runaway leaders in the Harold Brittain Conference with a 17-6-2 record for 36 points, 13 points ahead of the second-place Aldergrove Kodiaks. They’re also just one point back of the Richmond Sockeyes for first place overall in the Pacific Junior Hockey League.

The Pilots have a rare two-home-game weekend coming up, as they host the Grandview Steelers on Friday and Ridge Meadows on Saturday. Both games start at 7:30 p.m. at MSA Arena.
