The Abbotsford Pilots celebrate their 4-2 series win over the Aldergrove Kodiaks on Wednesday.

The Abbotsford Pilots are moving on to round two of the Pacific Junior Hockey League playoffs.

Abbotsford eliminated the Aldergrove Kodiaks with a 5-1 win in Aldergrove on Wednesday to win the best-of-seven series in six games.

The Pilots got three unanswered goals over the first two periods from Cole Methorst, Joel Balzer and Royce Rossignol and led 3-1 after two. Jackson Waniek scored a pair of goals in the third to seal the win.

Pilots goalie Jacob Crawford stopped 32 of 33 shots in the win, and the Pilots power play went two-for-five on the night.

Tuesday saw the Pilots lose game five on home ice 5-2, as Mitchell Plevy and Hayden Guilderson tallied for Abbotsford.

The Pilots now await the winner of the Mission City Outlaws and Ridge Meadows Flames series. The Flames hold a 3-2 series lead, with game six occurring in Maple Ridge on Friday. Game seven, if necessary, goes in Mission on Saturday.

If the Flames win the series, Abbotsford will have home ice advantage, but if the Outlaws win Mission will receive the home ice edge because of their better regular season record.
