Abbotsford PGA Tour players Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor will play at the UFV Cascades Pro-Am golf tournament next week.

The Vancouver Golf Tour event, which serves as a key fundraiser for the Cascades golf program, tees off Monday, June 15, at Chilliwack Golf Club. The pros will be battling for a piece of a $5,000 prize purse.

Hadwin and Taylor usually plays for much higher stakes.

Last year, Hadwin, a graduate of Robert Bateman Secondary finished atop the combined money list for the Web.com Tour regular season and Finals, highlighted by two victories and more than $500,000 in earnings. That earned him fully exempt status on the PGA Tour for 2014-15.

This season, as a full-timer on the PGA Tour, Hadwin, 27, has two top-10 finishes and sits 107th on the money list with total earnings of $629,685. He’s also 102nd in the FedEx Cup rankings.

Monday’s event will mark Hadwin’s third appearance at the Cascades Pro-Am. He won the event in 2012.

After a distinguished amateur and collegiate career and success on the Web.com Tour, Taylor also qualified for the PGA Tour for 2014-15. He immediately made a mark, notching a PGA Tour win in 2015 along with a couple top-25 finishes, Taylor has amassed just over $1 million this season and currently sits 68th on the money list.

Bertram said Hadwin and Taylor’s participation is a “huge boost” to the Pro-Am.

“We are so lucky to have [them] – and really this whole great golfing community coming together to help support our program. This is shaping up to be a really great day once again.”

Each foursome at the Pro-Am will feature one VGT pro and three amateurs, playing a two-best-ball team format, and there are still a few team spaces available.
