The Abbotsford Senior Panthers punched their ticket to the Fraser Valley senior girls AA rugby championship game by trouncing D.W. Poppy of Langley 56-5 in the semifinals last Thursday.
Gurpreet Dhaliwal and Tiffany Picketts led the charge for the defending provincial champs, scoring three tries apiece, while Melody Algera, Kaitlyn Feland, Nakisa Levale and Taylor White chipped in with singles. Picketts added two conversions and Shelby Pihl booted one of her own to round out the scoring.
The Panthers advance to face Mission's Heritage Park Highlanders at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Bakerview Centre for Learning. The winner claims the Valley's top seed heading into provincials, which run May 23-25 at UBC.
