PacWest honours Abbotsford volleyball stars

Abbotsford athletes were front and centre as the PacWest conference handed out its regular season volleyball awards on Wednesday.

The Columbia Bible College men's team, who head into the playoffs at Capilano University this weekend as the top seed, had five individuals honoured. Will Quiring and Leigh Goossen were on the first all-star team, while Jason Warkentin was a second-teamer and Jeremy Lieuwen and Brendan Folkerts were on the all-rookie team.

Additionally, MEI grad Caleb Konrad was named PacWest men’s rookie of the year after a stellar season with the Douglas Royals.

On the women's side, the University of the Fraser Valley put Jenna Evans and Krista Hogewoning on the first all-star team, and Kierra Noot was a second-teamer.

The CBC Bearcats women had two second team all-stars in Sadie Ball and April Vaandrager, and a pair of all-rookie team members in Jodie Enns and Kendal Venzke. Enns was also the female rookie of the year.
