Norton climbs podium at Special Olympics Canada Games

Abbotsford speed skater Paige Norton captured a trio of medals at the Special Olympics Canada Games last week.

Norton won a medal of every colour at the Games, which were held in St. Albert, Alta. She took gold in the 777-metre race, clocking a time of 1:49.82 to finish atop the F2 division. She added a silver medal in the 1000m and a bronze in the 333m, along with a fifth-place finish in the 500m.

An Abbotsford curling squad also turned in a solid result at the Games. The team, which features Percy Walker, Mike Palitti, Ashley Bowling, Jeff James and Dale Wright, finished fourth in their division.
